Want to learn about your Furby and get an introduction to mechatronics at the same time? Well here's a university worksheet I found by mistake

I know I know I still haven't fixed the other links and I said I would and a suprising number of people have emailed me about it, so sorry - I'll try and find them. To be honest I keep forgetting I have this blog and then I remember when I'm on a night shift (like now) but I don't have access to my old hard drive here.

Electromungo contacted me about the casio vl-tone bend, I sent him some fairly shoddy pictures and information about it but I'd lost most of the pictures. Anyway, he made an awesome beast called the Mungolater in a rather stylish wooden box. Here's a video of it:

Circuit bent CASIO VL-Tone

On Tuesday, Jemma and I circuit bent this Casio VL-Tone Keyboard, unfortunately we couldn't get the parts back in the case. Today, with the help of some pliers and duck tape - I fixed it. I made a quick demo of what it sounds like here (I'm sure Jemma could have made a much better demo). Here's some more pictures:

Well, when I set up this blog I promised myself that I wouldn't just use it to point to other places on the internet that are cool or wacky or whatever, no no no, I will have actual content on my blog that's actually written by me. So this is the first bit of that. My very very easy guide to circuit bending a Furby part one. I hope someone finds something useful in it :)

It is probably the best game ever made, if not that then it has the best game music ever made and I found an online playable version, YEAH! Even better... its an online playable version of the Commodore 64 version (version). That is exciting. Here is the link

MySpace Action

Well, first off today I played with my MySpace page and tried again to make it look nice, (after all, I need to portray a professional face on the interweb) I mostly failed again due to its bizarro HTML layout based on tables. Trying to remove padding and margin from a specific element goes something like this:

table table table table table table td {padding:0px;margin:0px;}

You have to guess how many "table"s to put in depending on how MySpace have randomly nested their tables, and hope that it doesn't effect anything else on the page. Why do you care? You don't. But if you did then Mike Davidson has a useful page about where to start self harming yourself with MySpace markup.

Woo, well, hello, now I have a MySpace page (blech) and a blog (mmmph). Why a blog Ken? Why do you need to put more of yourself on the internet? Is there not enough Ken Holloway here, here and here?

Well, maybe - but no, not really because:

Having a blog makes me look like an uber cool young web-savvy zeitgeist surfing net pioneer and as such makes me more employable by web media type entities.
I can put all the things here that otherwise would fill up your inbox, removing the dilemma of whether my emails annoy people and freeing you all to spend your days working.
I have many important things to say.
My actual website doesn't exist on the actual interweb yet, but when it does it will be relatively un-updateable. So this blog lets me keep everyone up to date.
Thats all I can think of.
